Christmas 2011 Part II: Rural Missouri

Here are some photos I took around the places we visited over the Christmas holiday. Most of them are pictures from Tony's grandma's farm, but there are a few scattered about the state of Missouri.

I've included a few quotes I've found particularly meaningful in the past few months, as any words I use to describe the pictures would only sully their beauty. Instead, I'll leave it to the professionals.

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."
The Problem of Pain, C.S. Lewis

"We rejoice not in the fact that we are suffering, but in our confidence that the pain can be transformed."
Where is God When it Hurts?, Philip Yancey

"We never know in advance exactly how suffering can be transformed into a cause for celebration. But that is what we are asked to believe. Faith means believing in advance what will only make sense in reverse."
Where is God When it Hurts?, Philip Yancey
